Setting up your profile will take a while

On the landing page, we filled out that we were of male gender seeking https://hookupbook.org/hookupdate-review/ a woman and clicked the big, bright, green button: “Try us FREE and Anonymous”. We were then redirected to a screen asking that we fill in a screen name, email, password, and date of birth. Right away, we were asked to verify our email before continuing with registration.

After doing so, we were then asked to enter our phone number so Victoria Milan could text us a unique code that would further verify our identity. While these extra steps were annoying, they are probably very valuable in the way that they keep a lot of fakes out of the website.

After all of our verification was complete, we were asked to “edit our profile” by filling in our city, relationship status, whether we had a secret “love nest” (which is a meeting spot for casual encounters), phone number, the type of relationship we were looking for (you can choose anything from casual to long term).

After filling out these basics, we were then asked to fill in our height, weight, appearance (whether or not you’re attractive), body type, eye colour, hair colour, ethnicity, whether or not we had facial hair, whether or not we had tattoos, and what we thought our best feature was. While it’s quite important to list these about yourself since your pictures won’t be too descriptive, we did question the “appearance” feature since lots of people aren’t able to accurately answer that about themselves – many people either overestimate or underestimate how attractive they are, which can lead to disappointment once people meet in person.

A couple last steps…

After filling in these qualities, we were then asked to fill out elements about our lifestyle and personality, along with personality elements we find attractive about others. Finally, we were taken to the last step which required us to upload a photo and then choose whether we wanted it to be private, blurred, or with our face completely cut out. We favoured the blur feature, as it showed everything but our face by placing a filter over to fuzz features out. This way, people can get an idea of your appearance without having your identity revealed.

Be choosy of your picture…

We clicked “Save & Continue” and were told that our profile picture would be put up once it was reviewed by their team. This is done because Victoria Milan doesn’t allow photos which are nude, of poor quality, of aggressive nature, contain weapons, are of a celebrity, have anyone else in them besides the person who signed up for the website, or can be traced back to a public social media page. We think this verification step is great as it keeps the website clean and private. It only took about 5 minutes for our photo to be approved as well.

The sign-up process took about a half hour, which is a lot of time to spend signing up for any dating website, especially when you’re under pressure of someone seeing and finding out what you’re up to. Since signing-up through Facebook isn’t possible and your identity is concealed, we do see the reasoning behind having to fill so much information out. We do feel, however, that some of it is unnecessary and could be taken out to make the process quicker and easier.

The feel of the site could be improved a bit…

The site is overall quite user-friendly. Everything is relatively easy to find and all the features are pretty easy to use and understand. We do think, however, that the site could have been made a little nicer to look at.
